badge honoring the
DEXTER POST 336
of
WELLSVILLE, NY.
This exceptional badge includes two metal elements with one (a celluloid) suspended from the other
by a red, white and blue ribbon attached to the top identifier-pin attachment part.
A large black ribbon suspends also from the top identifier-pin attachment part, as does a smaller brown
ribbon as background to the three-colored ribbon with the celluloid attached, to thus provide a total of
3 ribbons and 2 metal parts.
The colors are exceptional, especially the battle scene on the celluloid.
The white lettering for the word DEXTER (and Post beneath) is partly missing but I understand this is a relatively easy correction.
Whitehead and Hoag
is the maker, and their advertisement label is attached and clearly read.
A very worthy collectible for the Civil War collector.
