The Burundi 10,000 Francs is part of the family of notes issued in 2015 highlighting the countrys fauna on its obverse and economic activity in a map outline of Burundi. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated. It features a hippopotamus and the national emblem on its obverse. It also bears a portrait of President Melchior Ndadaye and Prince Louis Rwagasore, a flag, and a shield. The reverse of the banknote depicts a map outline, fronds, a fish, and the bank logo. Security features of the 144 x 72 mm paper banknote include a fish as its registration device, a pearlescent stripe on the obverse with a vertical 10000, and a pearlescent overprint on the reverse with a flag and 10000 /BRB. Furthermore, it has a windowed security thread with a demetallized head of a heifer, stars, and BRB. It also has a watermark which consists of an image of Prince Louis Rwagasore and an electrotype BRB.
